I wish more fantasy would take inspiration from Medieval Greek names for stuff, there's a ton of cool ones, both among proper nouns and among titles (like "exarch", that's just such a cool sounding word)

    Seriously though, the Eastern Roman Empire is a part of history I kinda have a blind spot on, unfortunately. All I know is slavery disappeared from there by the 11th century for the most part.

    Mage: the Awakening has a ton of Greek terminology and the bad guys are called Exarchs.

      yeah, I accidentally went on a White Wolf wiki binge the other day and saw a bunch of those. "Euthanatoi" is my favorite, incredibly cool sounding (although I guess those are from Ascension rather than Awakening)
