My favorite one of these is the Dwemer riding a bike with the Heart of Lorkhan on the spokes and saying "FUCKING CHIMER!" before sticking Keening into it, final panel blank.

The heart of Lorkhan is the greatest discovery of all time, believe me. Me and our big tough soldiers are going to conquer all of Cyrodill on the shoulders of my big beautiful Numidium.

Nobody-Nerevar and his little buddies don't stand a chance. SAD!

the fact that the dwemer disappeared because of pure logical self-negation is a wonderful way to illustrate the issue with approaching life from a purely rational perspective

The Dwemer may have pulled it off, but the typical Spock LARPers that say they're being "rational" often operate under contempt for emotion, which is both absurd and also still an emotional response to the idea of emotion.

well, more importantly, when one discounts emotion entirely any reason to exist becomes null. all meaning in existence is subjective and there is no rational basis for any of it. our biological impulses are ultimately just as "rational" of a desire as any other, and not more so

There's been a few medical cases that back that up that involved brain injuries that very truly damaged or disabled the patient's ability to feel emotions whatsoever. The brain still worked, per se, but they weren't motivated to do anything at all, and didn't feel bad about that, either.

obviously this isn't a judgement of people who can't feel emotion, but it does seem pretty silly to say that any desires are logical then

Maybe not, but contempt for emotion is still an emotional response to the idea of emotion, so when some bazinga brain LARPs as Spock and calls other people illogical with the implication that that makes them inferior, that's emotionally-driven behavior.
