What's more bazinga - their dehumanizing of foreigners, declaring every event outside of the global north down to the length scale of quantum interactions a genocide, or the idea that the supreme leader of an entire country also spent lockdown in isolation watching reality TV and wanking their tiddler into corned beef?

It seems like for most people "Genocide" just means "Very bad thing no details".

Because, like... I wouldn't want to live in Russia, given the choice. And I wouldn't want to live in NK. And nothing that I'm aware of even resembling genocide in any definition has ever been carried out by the Russian Federation or the DPRK. Like even the worst allegations made don't describe anything like genocide.

Yeah it's a completely meaningless word at this point, like "authoritarianism".

Authoritarianism is when you don't count votes. Western democracy is when your vote don't count.

I think also the fact that you could, in some lib discourse circles, immediately call anyone pushing back against you claiming genocide as a "genocide denier" has lead this to being a favorite go-to accusation for "bad country"
