This guy is asking people in the nicest possible way to consider it's also bad when their own governments destroy cities, and that's still extremely offensive to :reddit-logo:
https://old.reddit.com/r/interestingasfuck/comments/tpkzrt/mariupol_ukraine_before_and_after/ link to the post since it's required. Nothing really worth checking out, just various forms of delusional comments
One of the things I find the most distasteful about the use of the word "whataboutism" as a defense is that it's theoretically about how you can't point out others flaws to avoid discussion of your own, but it's nearly always used on social media to stifle internal dissent.
An American wildly gesticulates at Russia, screaming about their evils. Another American tells them that their shared country is at fault for similar or even worse atrocities and since they have more influence on their own country they should look inward toward improving their own behavior, and they get told they can't deflect from the criticism of foreign countries with self criticism.
It's so backward.
There's also the implication is that anyone who questions :amerikkka: isn't really american
This part kills me for sure.
I'm from [REDACTED to avoid doxxing] for Christ sakes. I've lived in the vicinity of [Midsized American City] for nearly my entire life.
But suddenly I'm Ivan Castro the Russo-Bolivian Wumao when I say CIA bad.
