This guy is asking people in the nicest possible way to consider it's also bad when their own governments destroy cities, and that's still extremely offensive to :reddit-logo:

https://old.reddit.com/r/interestingasfuck/comments/tpkzrt/mariupol_ukraine_before_and_after/ link to the post since it's required. Nothing really worth checking out, just various forms of delusional comments

The only thing libs don't call whataboutism is bringing up that Russia also has nazis any time the Azov Battalion is mentioned.

Yes, it is propaganda that Russia's government is actively fighting fascists within its borders. It's also what Russia is actually doing, they really are fighting fascists within their borders. Just because they say they're doing it and expect it to make them look better doesn't mean it isn't true and really happening.

"FREETHINKER ALERT! PATRIOTISM RATING: 0%! FREEDOM-HATING COMMIE DETECTED!"

Reddit libs became the Bush boomers of 20-15 years ago.

Every time I look back at kid me who thought Obama was going to right the wrongs of the US and actually make this country into something respectable, I laugh and cry at the same time.

They're literally the same people. I've started checking post histories on some of the dunks just to see if it's bots, or what, and a shocking (as in shocking to see pepe this old on Reddit) number of the :LIB: /blue MAGA takes come from people who claim to be in their 50s, or older. Even someone who's like 40 would have been old enough to vote in 2000, and believe me, a lot of young people were neocons.

I'd like to see what it looks like in summer like the first video. Portraying old Soviet cities as grey and awful because they took pictures during a Russian winter has been a pet peeve of mine for a long time and this seems to go along those lines. It's hard to tell what damage has actually been done when winter removed all of the greenery in the first place

Trying to discuss more than one thing at once is impossible for a westoid. It's barely possible for them to hold a single coherent thought at once emuch less multiple.

One of the things I find the most distasteful about the use of the word "whataboutism" as a defense is that it's theoretically about how you can't point out others flaws to avoid discussion of your own, but it's nearly always used on social media to stifle internal dissent.

An American wildly gesticulates at Russia, screaming about their evils. Another American tells them that their shared country is at fault for similar or even worse atrocities and since they have more influence on their own country they should look inward toward improving their own behavior, and they get told they can't deflect from the criticism of foreign countries with self criticism.

    It's so backward.

This part kills me for sure.

I'm from [REDACTED to avoid doxxing] for Christ sakes. I've lived in the vicinity of [Midsized American City] for nearly my entire life.

But suddenly I'm Ivan Castro the Russo-Bolivian Wumao when I say CIA bad.

What if, hear me out here. Whataboutism is good?

      • People are complaining that CRT is insulting to whites? Well no one seems to care that racism is insulting to brown people. So why is it okay to hurt brown people but white people have to be protected!?

      • Why is it that we as a nation fear Muslims for being terrorists, yet we actively encourage terrorist groups that act identically here in the US as long as they call themselves Christian?

The reason the left is so hated is because all we really do is hold up the mirror. Then they call us hypocrites for doing so without a hint of self-awareness. They even think it's okay for them to be hypocrites but not us.

Ukraine before the Soviets: Empty farmland

Ukraine during the Soviets: Glorious architecture and industrialization

Ukraine after the Soviets: Architecture and industry is not well maintained and falls into dilapidation

Redditors: After we defeat the Russians after they flatten all of Ukraine they can finally rebuild something amazing!

Can’t wait for dozens of thousands of Ukrainians to leave even after the war because they can’t afford to live in the shoddy five-over-ones built over their apartments

Weird that Americans couldn’t find any WMDs in Iraq but Russians are finding tens of thousands of Nazis and Nazi paraphernalia in Ukraine

Yeah, if it was at 80% destruction, it would be at the same rate of destruction as Pyongyang during the Korean war. There is no way the Russians have unleashed the same kind of destruction as the American bombing campaigns.
