This is a pretty dense one. It's wild how explicit things get. For example:

Such Russian clichés like "referendum in Crimea" or "will of the people of Crimea" are absolutely unacceptable.

The document deems unacceptable the terms “Civil war in Donbass,” “Internal conflict,” “Conflict in Ukraine” and “Ukrainian crisis” to describe the Ukrainian military’s war with the breakaway republics of the Donbass region.

Proper wording is critical. While highlighting the situation in Ukraine, a clear reference must always be done to Russia as an aggressor. We protect the entire Europe, not only ourselves, as Putin will not stop in Ukraine.

...these “verified sources that objectively cover what is happening in Ukraine” are anything but independent. Most of them are tied to the U.S. and European governments and billionaire foundations.

It's amazing how directly the language filters through to places like :reddit-logo: too. How much of it is actual paid shills, and how much of it is people internalizing this stuff verbatim?

If Desert Shield/Desert Storm were any indication, it started off with a shitload of paid shill accounts from PR firms, followed by people repeating talking points verbatim as the PR firms continue to stir the shit and steer the narrative.

I'm curious how long it will take before they start going after social media influencers, or if they will even need to bother in the first place since the PR/disinfo campaign has already swept up so much of public opinion that it may just happen on its own organically. Non-zero chance that we get a 2-hour Contrapoints video essay in which she extols the virtues of Ukraine in their struggle to get Russian election interference out of their gubbermint, with a few asides involving hand-wringing about Right Sector and Azov being "just a few bad apples." In other words, a John Oliver-tier lib take with set dressing, several costume changes, and punching left (via ridiculing "Tabby" over a NATO encirclement "whataboutism"/strawman).

...Hey, who left this lathe here?

What if I told you you're already about two weeks behind?

Contrapoints...punching left (via ridiculing “Tabby” over a NATO encirclement “whataboutism”/strawman).

LOL. Jesus. I thought I was the cynic. Can't seriously say it's all that far-fetched though, unfortunately. 😩

Some of the videos I saw from the "content creators" involved were some of the most ham-fisted propaganda reads I've ever heard
