The Saudi-led coalition fighting in Yemen said on Tuesday it will halt military operations in Yemen starting Wednesday: to help create a positive atmosphere during the holy month of Ramadan in order for negotiations between Yemeni parties to succeed, the Saudi state news agency (SPA) reported

Don’t know why, but good news

Being the administrator of Mecca and committing genocide during the rest of the year? Just fine. :big-cool:

So I don't know a lot about Islam to begin with but isn't it kinda fucked that a private government has control over this holy pilgrimage, especially one totally propped up by burgerland

Like it's really not my place whatsoever but on paper that seems incredibly fucked

On one hand, they are widely hated throughout the muslim world for being american lapdogs. On the other, there is a five guys in mecca right across from the Kabaah, so who is to say whether they are bad or not.

Nah they've managed the whole pilgrimage really well. Nobody has complaints with regards to that atleast, influence of burgerland notwithstanding.

Dunno, but cessation of hostilities during Ramadan has been a thing since Prophet Muhammad.
