My partner asked me if I had any podcast recos specific for news since she isn't on Twitter or anything really. She enjoys Rev Left every now and then, but she's looking for something more timely/news-focused and like an ongoing run-through of current events from a (hopefully) Marxist perspective, or however close that can reasonably be.
I'm putting together a list and have Democracy Now and Citations Needed (although CN is lengthier and less "hard-hitting news" type podcast than what she's looking for). But I'm kind of stuck. The Socialist Program with Brian Becker is kind of like too aggressive and focused on imperialism, I don't know anything about Coffee with Comrades, Deconstructed seems lib?, also don't know anything about the Jacobin podcasts like The Dig. Is Behind the News any good?
I feel like Democracy Now is the type of comprehensive news delivery that she's looking for the most, but I know that show can be anti-communist too. Idk, what does everyone think?
*Edit -- Hell yeah thank you all so much! I’m going with Morning Means TV, Give the People What They Want, The Punch Out, Citations Needed, and Democracy Now for a solid wrap of news podcasts
I get baited by this account every single fucking time. I was so mad.
If they like war stuff, especially about former or current communist countries, Radio War Nerd is fuckin sick as fuck. They talk about imperialism and shit like that too and go into the background of how the governments were ran and or sabotaged
Not sure if this link will work but I found the RSS somewhere on reddit I think. Use a podcast app like Feedly and add the url and it should work http://exiledonline.com/45wn84klrz/feed.xml
That's fair, I actually am weeks behind on like all podcasts. I'll have to listen to their new ones. I really enjoy a lot of their more historical type stuff since I haven't read enough about like the former USSR Baltic countries after the fall.
I will say though this war has been really shitty in a lot of ways. Some people I really like have had trash takes about it who have otherwise pretty solid takes. Sometimes you just gotta ignore some shit cause very few people, at least that I know of, never miss.
Means Morning News. Also available in video form for subscribers (and they have a pay-what-you-can slider bar if the standard $10/month is too much).

Give the People What They Want is a weekly leftist news podcast
In a related vein, does Breakthrough News have something they put out in podcast form regularly?
IMixWhatILike seems to be a podcast form of the BlackPowerMedia daily show, as far as I can tell. I usually watch a bit of the show on YouTube, I haven’t tried the podcast so I’m not sure
Big venn diagram with Counterpunch, Counterspin, and Punchout. Might have to create Counterspinpunch as the only fully synthesized lefty news source

My favorite.
Holy fucking censorship batman, I can't find an rss feed of the entire episodes. The rumble link only had the last hour, which is the worst part imo (call-ins). My favorite part is the beginning when Jacquie goes off for about five minutes about some injustices or history lesson and then they do the news and interviews. If anyone can find an rss of the entire episodes please post it...
edit: https://cloud.mave.digital/36281 rss feed! full episodes
American Prestige is pretty solid for foreign policy stuff, particularly anything dealing with the middle east/Iran
Internet Today are an entertainment news channel. Theyre substantially more lib than anything Marxist but i have loved the boys for the last 10years (I'm getting old :sadness-abysmal:
Edit: just realized you were asking for a podcast. Which they aren't so I wasn't helpful But nevertheless I love the two bros and still recommend them as content to consuuum
