Since it's been removed I pulled the post here:

"sorry for repost but the last title was too political so it got taken down

im currently 17 and pretty much all my life i have demanded economic prosperity and for politics to not waste their time on social issues that dont really matter.

but ever since i took my first tab, i have begun considering leftist ideology, such as free healthcare, reformation to education, taxing the rich, affordable housing, and putting a focus on environmental clense.

this current mindset i am being uncontrollably pushed towards is really scary, as i am becoming the type of person i wouldve bullied online a year ago

what do should i give up lsd so i can try and manage this political shift of mine or embrace the change"

I wrote this in a :reddit-logo: post, r/communism, actually... in 2018. I still stand by it, even though there is much else I said during that time I no longer would stand by:

Psychedelics are well known for inducing a sense of empathy and connectedness with things beyond oneself. Of course that includes other people, both in one's immediate social circle, but also humanity in general.

This is all anathema to right wing politics, so it's no surprise (to me) that chemicals that tend to expand not just a person's empathy, but also to new and different ways of thinking would also tend to erode reactionary worldviews (and strengthen compassionate worldviews).

I don't think this was lost on the powers of the status quo when they demonized and outlawed psychedelics, forcing their use to the social fringes. There's absolutely a reason that both psychedelic drug use enthusiasm and leftist ideologies are continuously confined to counter-culture. That said, using psychedelics is certainly not a sure way to cure a chud. Sadly. There are plenty reactionary fucks who have enjoyed a trip or a few, but ime, you'll find far fewer of them than you would leftist psychonauts.

For me, dissociative drugs (ketamine, MXE) were a definite stepping stone in my radicalization. I already considered myself pretty far left, but the beautiful ego death I achieved with them really cemented the political views that I felt were based on empathy and compassion.

Edit: shit, I wish I'd have seen this post earlier. I'm always late to the party.
