I'm balding and I wear it with pride, it's seriously not that big of a deal. I hope sometime soon I can get the Captain Picard look going since he's so handsome.
IIRC some people took issue with Picard being bald when TNG started airing, asking how they hadn't managed to cure baldness by the 24th Century. I think Roddenberry replied that in the 24th Century people had stopped caring about such things.
Also I believe Patrick Stewart was used having to wear hairpieces to auditions and had ordered a new one for his talks about starring in TNG. To his relief, Roddenberry pretty much immediately told him to take it off
Wasn't Wil Wheaton an accomplished child actor at the time
He did? :what:
I mostly see people dragging him for being annoying
Really? People forgot about that? It was big news in 2018, not that long ago.

"Throughout Wheaton’s essay decrying the online mobs of bad faith actors, there seems to be one glaring omission: Any mention of his friend Chris Hardwick. Following Chloe Dykstra’s public account of the abuse she endured in a relationship with an unnamed “nerd mogul” who was pretty clearly Hardwick, a lot of people expected an outspoken feminist like Wheaton to publicly condemn the actions of his friend. At the time , Wheaton said that he needed “some time to process what’s going on and put words to my thoughts.” Those words never materialized"
He was also on that nerd minstrel show Big Bang Theory.
Considering the sorts of people who most vocally hate nerd media and nerd media figures online, I'm not surprised covering up rape doesn't really even crack the top 10 list of issues they have with Wheaton
Worse comes to worse you can always find work as a bouncer.
I just wish I'd finally go totally bald, it's having to shave like 40% of my head every couple days that's annoying.
I shave my head so I don't have to deal with bourgeoisie notions of hair care. What would lennin do?
He should try the Steven Seagal-style astroturf implants with the perfectly triangular widow's peak
yeah that's my gripe with cishet men, they often just can't own their baldness and instead do stupid bullshit to cover it up
they could just prevent it but that requires hormonal shit that would probably cause them to lose their minds about testosterone or something
(seriously just block dht, ez)
There are a lot of side effects, not just lower testosterone.
Some people get brain fog that doesn't go away even after they stop taking the medication. Also it can be expensive to take forever, and you have to take it forever or you'll just start balding again
Elon had pretty bad hair loss back around the time he was buying in to PayPal. He clearly spent some money on correcting it since, some people say he has plugs but I think he has a system tbh bc the level of hair loss he had usually means you can’t get enough plugs to cover the loss. ( This is another pic I usually see get shared, I swear there’s another that’s more advanced but I can’t find it atm)
He recently tried to buy twitter for about that amount of money
The joke is that he’s trying to keep people from sharing those photos instead of him just trying to control a major corner of new media
Oh, I didn't recognise him.
Yeah it sucks that people think hair loss is more shameful then, you know, trying to control the media.
Or just get a better haircut, damn. Going bald doesn't mean you have to rock whatever that is
Just grow it out, get an equally wild beard and go full Christman :matt-jokerfied:
You have have the most crooked teeth and nose and the most fucked up jaw and you cannot be ugly as long as you’re a good person.
That's not what lookists believe. They love ridiculing the appearance of others, no matter what the reason.
Lookism is a term that describes the discriminatory treatment of people who are considered physically unattractive. It occurs in a variety of settings, including dating, social environments, and workplaces. Lookism has received less cultural attention than other forms of discrimination and typically does not have the legal protections that other forms often have, but it is still widespread and significantly affects people's opportunities in terms of romantic relationships, job opportunities, and other realms of life.

The thing about rich guys and their hair plugs is that it is in that juicy intersection of money and vanity, like your average Joe cannot afford cultured capybara ball hair transplant treatments or whatever
It's in the same vein as that one Chinese emperor drinking mercury or Peter Thiel sucking the blood of teenagers; rich and powerful assholes trying to buy their way out of their own mortality
that one Chinese emperor drinking mercury
Not to be a well actually nerd or anything but this actually happened to several Chinese emperor throughout history lol. Drinking mercury in the pursuit of immortality is it asily the funniest way to die tbh
Clearly it had to work if they kept doing it! :think-about-it:
