      Libs get mad at tankies because tankies have a coherent and consistent ideology that draws on real-world material reality for its justification, which makes them difficult to argue with online. This probably also applies to other tendencies too, but apparently libs have an easier time with them, probably because they aren't directly challenging decades of US propaganda about AES states.

      Putting aside the ideological incoherence of liberals, tankies have no power. They have no influence. The Chinese government isn’t even promoting communism overseas and neither is any other socialist government. No one gives a shit about tankies in the real world

      I think that's kind of the point. If there's one thing liberals love, it's punching down, and who has less power than a couple basement dwellers on the internet?

      For all intents and purposes, “tankieism” is no different than posadism. Just a bunch of terminally online nonsense. Just a bunch of children with free time on their hands pretending to be activists because it’s easy to fight a practically imaginary enemy than it is to fight a real one.

      Was with you up until this. There are a decent amount of Marxists in the imperial core out there doing good work. We’re just not a conventional political threat, particularly with electoral politics.
