    I literally eat rice with everything. Last week I made pasta but kept the leftover pasta and sauce separately.

    Out of pasta? No problem I'll finish the sauce with good old rice

    pasta is the result of great traditional unpaid labor on the part of mama;

    rice is the liberatory cereal in the kitchen, whereas pasta reproduces patriarchal structures

    Rice is so much easier to make than pasta. None of that straining business, or am I just not making it the bougie way?

        Yeah it seems like my calculus is: if I wash and strain the rice i’d have to use so much water, and I don’t really mind the starchiness of unwashed rice too much. Plus I’ll have to wash the strainer.

        Orrrrrrr it could just be that I’m lazy

          If you don't mind the strachiness then its no problem! I don't use a strainer but I just rise it and pour some of the water out of the rice cooker pot

    I don't like cooking rice. I make a big enough pot to have portions for 3 days, then eat everything directly from the pot in front of the fridge at 3 AM
