yeah and I simply don't believe Democrats care that much since Biden absolutely could pack the courts if he wanted, yet refuses to out of worship of norms and procedure, because that's all liberal politics are.
Also when has the supreme court ever done anything good? Gay marriage is the only thing I can think of and they barely let that through.
Well obviously the number 9 was handed down by the god pope and Biden will do nothing about that, but the last thing I'll say on harm reduction is that he's been beating Trump's pace with appointing district judges
Too bad the dems completely allowed that to happen between RBG refusing to retire, them doing their best Charlie brown umpression when republicans repeatedly told them "fuck you were not gonna let you pick a justice" and then mounting the weakest resistance imaginable for three consecutive openly fascist ideologues.
If democrats were at all capable of competent resistance d the minute republicans said they weren't going to approve a justice in an election year Obama should have said "congress is refusing to do their job to approve a nominee in an attempt to co trol the other two branches so I nominate whoever the fuck u want, what are they going to do about it"
Unfortunately the dems assumed theybwere going to keep the executive branch forever so instead they did nothing and then immediatly rolled over and showed their belly as soon as republicans were in control.
Also wanna take this opportunity to re-emphasive the reason they originally took co trol was because after refusing to step down for years RBG died because she had to officiate a wedding ignoring covid protocols in the middle of a nationwide spike AFTER she had been diagnosed with cancer.
I'd be a lot more sympathetic to the whole "vote for dems because the Supreme court" if they hadn't spent the last decade proving not only will they not fight to get any justices on the court they also won't do anything to oppose a republican nomination.
Republicans will never let a Democrat nominate a justice again.
