I looked through a few of their other communities and found this:

    Feminism

A community to speak against the greatest threat to our world, feminism. Jokes and memes are allowed, but can be removed under Rule 8 : Forum Sliding if they are drowning out useful information.

    also

    flatearthresearch

A community for earnest students to engage in and learn about flat earth research. A haven for rational discourse and criticism.

Surprised American right wingers haven't opened up to feminism a bit more as an alliance with terfs. Seems like that's where the British reactionaries and TERFs are headed.

To American chuds, trans woman = man, and terf = woman who hates trans woman, so terf is woman who hate man and so is feministm so chud hate terf bc woman hate man woman man grr mad

yeah I was gonna say, they don't currently link up for a few reasons. American chuds see trans women as some kind of lesser version of a man, while terfs see them as some kind of invading force to destroy the concept of womanhood. Chuds don't give a shit about protecting femininity or female spaces or whatever(neither do terfs though honestly)

I've had a hypothesis that British chuds get along with terfs more easily because of some weird oepidal relationship to the queen, but I might have to break out the Deleuze and Guattari for that one

They don't have to. The TERFs will come to them no matter how openly misogynistic and anti-feminist they act. When the beginning and end of your ideology is "protect [our] women and girls!" the bar is low enough for the right to walk over it without even noticing.

I don't think American transphobia needs ex-feminist boomers for support. A main reason TERFs are so big in the UK is that they're needed as an inroad into mainstream discourse. The US is reactionary enough that it can do without placing such a trojan horse in feminist and lesbian communities.

Conservative women define themselves in opposition to feminism, like its the Yankees and they're all Red Sox fans.

Aligning with TERFs only works when you can claim feminism created trans women and you're doing some "going your own way" clout chase bullshit.

Is that when a forum about a thing becomes about a different thing? Or is it more specific

A determined minority can control internet discourse by essentially spamming and bumping low effort threads and pushing relevant content off the front page. It's (supposedly) a technique that Stormfront consciously employed to pull 4chan right. Works particularly well on sites with chronological ordering. Irrelevant on reddit since low-effort posts are going to be upvoted anyway.
