What even is the point

Too many homeless and crazy people out scurrying about at night to safely walk around where i live. I try not to go out after dark mostly.

I used to be a total night person, in a different city. It was also dangerous to walk at night but pretty safe if just riding a bike around instead of walking.

remember that homeless people are our comrades. I get what you're saying, and you should be safe--it sounds like you're being appropriately careful. But we just want to be careful about casting aspersions against our homeless comrades, since they are victims of a broken system, and most pose no danger whatsoever.

homeless people are more likely to be victims of crime than perpetrators of crime by several orders of magnitude, unless we accept the act of being homeless as a crime, which is bullshit anyway.

Yeah totally. But the few violent crazy ones are enough to keep a lot of people wary. Including the other homeless people.
