At some point during my PhD, my partner and I discovered that some doctoral graduates (read Finnish) get a sword when they graduate. Apparently this is a fact my partner held on to and he decided to honor me with my very own Doctor's Sword now that I’m done.
I always find that debating my wife with facts and logic helps her calm down when she's mad at me....
