A film where the Capitalists want to 'nuclear burn the forest' for not being profitable and return their ships to commercial service. Space Communists are literally planting forests in space.
None of the factions in WWIII had an ideology similar to the federation, that didn't come about iirc till after first contact
'The reactionary forefathers of Space Communists are literally planting forests in space.'
We don't know what ideology those scientists had since we have no idea what was the political landscape during WWIII, but it certainly wasn't capitalism. By the time Earth was finished rebuilding I doubt there was a Capitalist left in the room to debate what to do with giant forests in space.
WWIII happens after the Eugenics Wars, I could see someone sending out seed ships during the height of that. Especially during the period of Augment Warlords, I'm sure one of those big-brainiac genius dudes was smart enough to build seed ships before everything went up shit's creek.
Silent Running freaked me out as a kid. Haven't watched it as an adult but I remember it making me feel really uneasy.
Is SNW decent, or is it more nu trek with a couple interesting bits sprinkled in?
I'll have to give it a shot then. I got burned by the last couple of series but honestly even if it's only on part with the mid-tier Treks then I'm interested.
