Their addresses are already known. Is there like a list of important people that they go thru before raiding people or what?

    Yeah so idk if this still happens, but a few years ago streamers would get doxxed (their address found and publicized) and then some shit heads would report them to uhh somewhere? And SWAT would raid their houses.

      No, I know what SWATing is. I'm just confused about the logic that the cops can be sent to a bourgeois neighborhood by some randos to do...something other than knock on the door and kiss ass.

          It's not complicated. You call 911 and say "There's a guy with a gun and his girlfriend is in there too and they've been yelling and I thought I heard a gunshot and here's the address" and then wait to see if the cops show up, kick the door in, and beat up and/or kill the victim.

          It works because every police jurisdiction is a little fiefdom unto itself and there's no real regulation or oversight of SWAT teams, so you're just rolling a dice to see if the roided out thumb wearing oakleys in charge of the tactical unit decides he wants to put on his tactical gimp suit and drive the police tank today.
