When I was in high school we were running past a golf course, I shouted as loud as I could

GOLF ISNT A REAL SPORT ALL YOU DO IS HIT A FUCKING BALL

and ran off. So many old rich people looked at me with confusion and contempt.

I've got a nearby public park that installed disc golf goals. Cost, like, a few grand and they've been a popular attraction for over a decade.

No real reason you can't just put little holes in the ground in the wilderness and wack around some balls. That's how the Scots did it. Maybe we need to get back to Originalist Golfing Tradition.

Turn them into public parks. Nothing of value will be lost. Birbs will be happy.

There’s a massive golf course relatively near my work that was wrecked by hurricane harvey and it’s literally just sitting there unused now. It’d make a dope park

Issue is if it’s too busy of a park. A golf ball hitting you in the head hurts like shit. A frisbee at worst will give you a bruise.

If we can do hunting season in state parks, I'm confident we can do golfing season.

Lots of parks already do scheduled walks - similar to tee-times - so as to space out the volume of people on a trail. You'd need extra precautions, but it would be far from impossible.

Public Semantics Announcement: disc golf frisbees are much more dangerous than their recreational counterparts.

I had a rich friend in college who was kinda the “poor” kid back at the school they went to

The high school and college age kids he was around went golfing, that kind of school

They told me a story once where they were gonna go to a golf course with a friend and my friend suggested one but It didn’t have some kind of automated system for teeing the ball or something and their friend was like “what am I poor?” And wanted to go to the one that did have that system

Lol just imagining people being like the wealthy people at this golf course are too poor for me.

I hate watch PGA golf and pros are the most coddled little babies in sports

They must have complete silence and absolutely no movement before they swing. Phil Mickleson forced the golf channel to move a drone cause it was in his line of sight. Asshole, when you swing you're staring at the ground.

They abuse caddies who not only carry the clubs and clean up after theses pricks, they are expected to know the geography of the course, the yardage of each shot, the slope of the green, basically they plan every shot for the player. And when they sail the ball into the pine straw or shank a putt, they berate the caddie for fucking up the read.

Probably the thing that irritates me most is the rules. Aside from hitting in the water, it's practically impossible to get a penalty. I've seen a dude hit into a tool shed. He called over a ref who promptly placed the ball back on the course where the player could see the flag. If a tree is in the way of the swing, you can move the ball to a position where you can complete a full swing.

They're almost all conservative assholes who loathe the fans. The only guy on tour who seems to have a personality is pat Perez, who unironically rocks a mullet and air Jordan cleats. He's a huge gambler and drinker who hangs out with nba players. I think he has the biggest Jordan collection in the world. That's not cool or anything, but it is interesting in a sport full of boomers.

Edit: jfc my longest post on this site is about golf. My priorities are clearly in the right place

True, true. They're all the same guy. The dickhead that wears a belt with shorts and tucks in his nike collard shirt and yells out "get in the hole" after every fucking shot.

Also there is a golf tournament called the Masters, located in Georgia, that was all white for forever and the only black people allowed were caddies. Players had to use the club's caddies, who were all black, until 1982.
