i had a brief moment of hope around then, not because i minded wearing a mask but because i thought hopefully people would stop dying. a brief moment.

i know we shouldn't ever expect anything good from them but it seemed reasonable to think that a global pandemic killing millions of people would be a little more pressure than they're used to. i guess their obstinancy knows no bounds.

I won't lie - I was surprisingly hopeful about Biden for a few months just after his inauguration until around June. He and his administration were getting things done and I believed the covid bullshit being spewed by his administration and by the CDC. But then he made noises in June that July 4th would somehow be a big day for the nation and for covid. The fucker wanted to take a victory lap halfway through the race!

I couldn't believe he was telegraphing his desire for a Dubya-like "Mission Accomplished" moment. What a fucking moron. The virus dictates what happens not messaging and patriotic flag waving. At that point my hope started to rapidly ebb away. I knew he was going to be Trumpian about the virus and he and the dems would try to message their way out of the pandemic. And then I realized every single day the dems didn't act toward killing the filibuster was yet another day of idiocy.

This failure as a leader is getting more catastrophic by the day.
