Now does this "dsa position" actualy mean remotely anything for the politicians that are dsa affiliated , canvassed and even members of. Is this a position on the war or Nato that is discussed , let alone agreed with or followed in the majority of DSA chapters. Cause anti imperialist action from an org/party itself in this and other matters only is a thing if its mass action and can mobilize a non insignificant amount of members and chapters to follow it or act on it and to be taken into account in their electoral persuits and propaganda. Otherwise there is no point in speaking of such things as "DSA foreign policy positions"
Yeah its the position adopted by delegates at convention and its in the political platform. Also the position adopted by the NPC in their statements on Ukraine and the IC in its work (which is appointed and approved by NPC). So its the national politics, which yeah i would say the vast majority of members and chapters support. There has been work with this coalition Peace in Ukraine that chapters have participated in across the country. When it comes to federal electeds in congress they're just affiliated with DSA so not much can be done since its not a party. I think based on the massive amount of backlash DSA got from liberal media on its Ukraine statements with even the white house staff attacking it id say it has enough outreach for these freaks to want to come after DSA hard.
E: a good recent example for how national stances can propagate across the org, the International Committee did a campaign to oppose USICA and US escalations against China and 25 chapters representing a majority of DSA members signed on to it + lots of individuals and leadership, and I think stuff like that can have a real impact on the politics and organizing work of members
