I've been vegan for five years now, and pretty quickly became whole foods plant based cuz I wanted to lose some weight (and it worked!). But an unintended (positive) side effect of going vegan is that the awful stomach aches and subsequent diarrhea I used to get a handful of times each year went away completely (I was vegetarian before this, so it had to be from cutting out the dairy).
I also used to absolutely hate taking shits because my stool was usually hard as rocks and the act of shitting often made my ass bleed. As soon as I went vegan, that problem disappeared completely. I'm sure it was probably less of a vegan thing and more of a "I'm eating way more fiber now" thing, but still--eat more plants, folks (especially :bean: ), they're good for you. 93% of American adults don't get enough fiber.
