They unironically see IRL as a video game. They're fine with committing these heinous acts because they simply see themselves as doing an "evil" playthrough, evil playthroughs simply being the easier, more fun playthrough. This explains the main character syndrome. This explains why they all talk like anime villains. This explains the might makes right mentality: I'm a badass so I get to call the shots!.
