It happens.

What is the point of this story?

My entire company has a week long on-site for a “hackathon” coming up in the near future, can’t wait for the mass casualty event.

This comes after the recent announcement that the company has chosen to “densify” seating arrangements and move everyone onto the same floor.

My team was “disappointed” to hear I’m choosing to continue working from home that week.

The US gets more insane by the day. I can't believe that so many Americans see superspreader events as an unavoidable fact of life. Also - they pretend long covid doesn't exist which is straight up nihilism.

MFW I am deadass looking to flee to the fucking UK as HARM REDUCTION. (Although to be fair, Scotland would be semi-pleasant.)

I sometimes wish I had gone into tech but between the horror stories of applications and probably working for a company filled with ghouls I'm ok with construction.

I hope they catch it several times a year from now on. To improve their immunity, of course.

Did you see the self text? The democrats and the CDC have succeeded in normalizing superspreader events. After they break out some people say - "It happens." and "So what?"

Minimizing the virus was necessary to force everyone back to work. Once that train picks up momentum, good luck stopping it without undoing the minimization.
