Resources For Understanding The War Beyond The Bulletins

Defense Politics Asia's youtube channel and their map, who is an independent youtuber with a mostly neutral viewpoint.

Moon of Alabama, which tends to have good analysis (though also a couple bad takes here and there)

Understanding War and the Saker: neo-conservative sources but their reporting of the war (so far) seems to line up with reality better than most liberal sources.

Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict and, unlike most western analysts, has some degree of understanding on how war works. He is a reactionary, however.

On the ground: Patrick Lancaster, an independent journalist reporting in the Ukrainian warzones.

Unedited videos of Russian/Ukrainian press conferences and speeches.

Yeah, I feel like WaPo is trying to kill me by raising my blood pressure too high. These neo-Nazi fucking scum of the earth, who have been terrorizing and murdering Ukraine and its civilians for years, are being not only rehabilitated by the media but turned into Thermopylae-esque freedom fighters defending against a tyrannical, imperial regime that's entirely responsible for the world's problems. We're absolutely less than a month away from the "they are light itself" article - probably whenever Russia tries and executes/imprisons them all in Siberia, and then I will die of an aneurysm.

The best heroes are dead ones, especially if you're willing to ignore all their past atrocities. Then you can blame any future actions by Nazi groups in Ukraine or throughout Europe on Russian false flags.

In fairness the Spartans at Thermopylae were also Fascist bastards whose acts were wildly overemphasized. The last stand wasn't 300 Spartans. it was 300 Spartans, several thousand Helots, and contingents of Thespians, Thebans, and one other city whose name escapes me. One contingent fought until all their spears were broken and they could not effectively fight so they surrendered. Another contingent, not the Spartans, had chosen to go to war with the Persians even though their City-State opposed the conflict. They basically didn't have a home to go back too and fought to the last man. The Spartans sent all their helots out with shitty spears and no armor and let them get mulched by the Persians. But it's the "300 Spartans" who were remembered by history.

Not even future actions, libs will already deflect from the Buffalo and Christchurch shooters connections to Azov and blame Russia for promoting right wing extremism to destabilize their enemies but even if Russia is doing that, they're amateurs compared to the :cia:
