Every time I start to relax and think: "hey, y'know, boys are cute sometimes." Something like this pops up and I :homer-bye:

I think men can be better but there's so much cultural baggage to work through. IMO something that needs to happen is dudes helping each other work through patriarchy stuff so they're nicer to be around. I feel like a majority of hexbear guys wouldn't be bad partners (none of you read into that 🔪) or genuine friends, but since y'all are isolated from each other irl it's not like there's a pocket of decent feminist men out there cultivating a subculture. It's more like playing the lotto and hoping the right balls come out of the earth-sized spinny cage.

Men helping men get rid of their extreme biases can really work. My bf got some dude to stop being an incel through challenging him on his misogynistic thoughts and taking him to the gym with him. Now that guy has a girlfriend and people don't hate being around him because he's completely changed.

It think if they're really far gone they need a man to get them out, then they can actually listen to women to become a feminist (if they get that far, most will just see women as equal and not think of the ways they're discriminated against). I dont see a misogynistic man becoming less sexist/a feminist through the help of women alone because not listening to women is kinda their thing

ie why you can't change a sexist partner by convincing them of the struggles you go through/your worth, they already think less of you and you're still with them

Pretty much hard agree. Men implicitly supporting shitty behaviors in their friends only emboldens them to continue acting that way. But dudes care a lot about the disapproval of male figures for reasons.

The only other way I've seen to breach that gap of empathy other than dudes battling it out in the marketplace of ideas is transitioning. Suddenly getting thrown into a fem body can be a huge wake-up call.

I tried real hard where I used to work, I got fired for organizing while they let a sex pest get away with dozens of instances of harassment of female employees half his age. It took me convincing this dipshit that he was getting fucked over by the owners and hyping him up to quit.

Then as a manager I tried to deal with a transphobe that nobody felt comfortable working around and afaik he still is there
