Jokes but seriously pay parking is a viable way of pressuring people into using other viable forms of transportation like biking or transit.
Without viable public transport though it's just another poor tax
Ideally all of the parking funds would go directly to public transport but most of the time they just go to the city coffers
Jamie Oliver saw a sign that said "Free Palestine" and panicked that it meant "Free Palestine with the purchase of a Palestine of equal or lesser value." The celebrity chefs are tiiiiired.
Jews /= Zionists but Zionists really want you to think Jews = Zionists
THIS. Israel has very intentionally tried to equate Judaism and Zionism. And it's ironically made it easier for actual antisemitism to be cloaked in antizionism, which is frustrating, as a jew.
I can't 100% prove it but my belief is that Israel cooperates with right wing anti-Semites in Europe and America specifically to make those places more dangerous for Jewish people to coerce them in to moving to Israel.
It's mostly how right-wing Evangelicals are extremely pro-Israel not because they care about Jewish people in any way, but because they firmly, religiously believe that when all the Jewish people return to Jerusalem it will trigger an apocalyptic war that will end with Jesus returning to earth. It is pure, wild eyed, horrific religion with no real material basis, but it drives billions of dollars and broad political support in to Israel's war machine. And Israel is happy to cooperate with them even though the Evangelical goal is basically "All the Jewish people go to Jerusalem, Jerusalem gets mega-nuked, Jesus returns."
Pissing, shidding, and farding over a sign is normal, actually
But be careful, because if the sign says "No Dumping" you could get in trouble.
My 5 year old came down the stairs this morning and said “Israel, more like isntrael!” And then everybody clapped
