Are people shrugging, though? I think that the average American is completely isolated from anything resembling political power in this country. People are certainly stirring but they know that they are powerless as individuals and they don't know how to organize themselves into communities to challenge state power. Not to mention the constant barrage of ideological conditioning by way of modern media, and the lack of the material conditions that necessitate community... The atomization of the American individual is complete, I would argue.

The utility of weapons isn't even a factor in our revolutionary strategy at the moment. We cannot organize communities that stand in defiance of the state under our current understanding and our current conditions. Things will become much, much worse under the current conditions before a revolutionary movement can take hold.
