    :amerikkka-clap:

Hospitalizations in NY right now are about the same as during the peak of the Delta wave. I guess that's good?

Liberals: but ICU visits are down

      Two weeks later

      Ah well nevertheless

That's bad, right? I'm not even sure where to look for useful information anymore.

Back in March, the Mayor released a new color-coded system that tracks COVID-19, alerts and keeps New York City residents apprised of the risks they face.

I feel so much safer now. Color coded threat assessments have such a good track record of not being used to blatantly lie to us.

The CDCs most stringent recommendation is “wear a mask indoors”

My county has been red now for two months and zip from the local board of health let alone the dipshit citizenry

The best is my work making us return to the workplace because covid is over now while telling us how cautious they were and how much they cared for the past year and a half, and now that cases are spiking it’s like well fuck you see you on Monday, hope you or your loved ones aren’t immunocompromised

I've been wearing a mask constantly since like 2 months ago.

I think people here should remember that regular masks don't really do anything to protect you. If everyone isn't wearing a normal surgical mask, you wearing one doesn't really do anything. They only really protect other people from you.

I recommend at least using a KN95 mask. Some people go with the P100 filters, and that's great, but I know some people don't want to use respirators.

I did find some relatively cheap N95 masks that are comfortable, they're the blue/green ones by BYD and you can get them online for about 9 dollars for a box of 20. They last me about 2-3 days per mask, and I basically use the 3 day old masks for a workout if I'm in a gym and then throw them out. These, so far, are the cheapest ones that are definitely NIOSH certified, and I've found them to be very comfortable for use all day. I know it sucks to use Amazon but they're on there for by far the cheapest price at 8.50 a box of 20

AFAIK due to aerosol, frequent ventilation (or doing stuff outside whenever possible/ leaving crowded indoors ASAP etc.) is at least as important as mask, and often totally ignored in recommendations.

Very true, but with work a lot of us can't go outside or have no control over ventilation

Sure, I know that very well. It's much more profitable to just say "put your mask on and STFU" instead of legally regulating ventilatin/CO2 content :stonks-down:
