mixed thoughts on jreg from what I have heard of him but this is one of the deepest cuts I've been served in a while, this man is reaching through the screen and shaking me to make the point stick
tl;dw: actively invest in making your art and artistic process more communal (as in organizing and talking to other artists) because:
- art is meant to be shared, it's better when it's shared
- rotting behind a computer screen and grinding for hours at a time won't hone your craft at even a tenth of the rate that talking to other artists will
- you will be more invested in your art when you have people to make it for
- you need to go outside and talk to people in real life and/or in ways that emphasize in some form that there is a real person that you are conversing with to not go insane
- in times where you wish to create something that exists beyond your scope of ability, you can pool together with your community to create something that you would struggle to make divided
I think jreg is a lot like Bill Burr in that they're personally okay, but their fans are the worst people.
