One of the few positive general public trends here in Greece is that for one reason or another people are still more distrustfull and anti-Nato/anti-EU/anti-US/anti-west than any other "european liberal democracy" and this was actualy true even before the financial crisis and even before the Kosovo/Yugoslav intervention (tho strongly impacted by it). If remember correctly public sentiment regarding the Iraq and Afghanistan wars was 90%+ against and similar high 80% for any Nato intervention since (Syria and Libya etc). The average person will 50% of the tme give you a pretty solid anti-imperialist line and even analysis regarding modern western and US interventions
it helps that the rest of Europe has been doing imperialism on Greece since they got independence. you get a different perspective of those liberal institutions when they are turned against you
