I got curious and looked into it a bit, it was pobably not actually shrooms. It was more likely ergot, rhododendron honey, or hallucinogenic bream. These seem to be the hallucinogenics of choice in Greece, Anatolia, and the Levant during the first and second centuries CE. I didn't even know you could get high from just eating a fish.
