Am I being the dick here for finding the whole Jubilee thing kind of gross to celebrate an empire built on slavery and conquest?

    Does British royalists also have this thing where they demand that you admire the royals, even though you are against the monarchy as an institution? Like "But you have to admit that the queen is doing it really, really well" said in a tone so insistently that it almost becomes menacing?

      yes and they also keep talking about how the queen is hard working for not retiring despite the fact that she's no longer even up to the minescule amount of work being monarch entails and any other job would fire you once you can't do it anymore

      they demand that you admire the royals, even though you are against the monarchy as an institution

      I think it breaks there brains a bit that I dislike the queen on a personal level more than even the institution
