I can almost guarantee a squirrel didnt rip out a 3 foot tree, it couldve been a deer? They like to eat strange things sometimes.
If you're in the US then house sparrows are not protected by the migratory birds act and you are very much allowed to kill them. Also you should, they take over other birds' nests and are generally assholes. Kick em.
Raccoons are the most common pest that pulls my trees out. There's no grubs in my pots, assholes, stop looking.
if you don't want raccoons to dig through your puts, maybe you could leave some tasty treats next to them?

Having similar issues with snakes and rabbits this year.
Would have thought the snakes would just eat the bunnies and leave my animals alone, but nope.
If the local climate continues moving into the tropical zone, the banana trees we've had for years might actually make some bananas to pay the gorillas for their time.
Well... In all honesty, the snakes can't actually eat full grown chickens, they just kill them. I just kinda assumed we'd lose some eggs every now and again.
