Boudin first took office in early 2020 and ran on a slew of progressive promises, including to end cash bail, stop the practice of prosecuting children as adults and offer defendants the chance to enter a rehabilitation program rather than prison.

Crime has remained roughly the same in San Francisco since Boudin first entered the job, and no evidence has emerged to link his policies to violent crime.

Liberals rejoice at getting to put the big boots on to stamp on the face of the homeless

San Francisco DA Chesa Boudin recalled in blow to ~~progressives ~~ people with any empathy

The things he supported were the bare minimum in terms of modernizing the US carceral-punishment system.

He undid some of the things I learned about as an ex-:ukkk: person that made me go “and that’s the actual law? And not part of Robocop?”

The right did an incredible job in making him seem to be the sole force behind a nonexistent spike in crime.

it really is amazing how Capital can gen up a crime wave that isn't happening and blame it on policies that don't exist and gaslight everyone so hard that even the people living in the city in question completely believe it. reality isn't only invented for wars.

Making this even more notable: elected prosecutors have something like a 97% retention rate across the country. It's basically unheard of to lose as an incumbent absent a major scandal or some big-money effort.
