    I think it's a tax write-off for the company, they get credit for donating money that they siphoned out of their employees' pay

    Because you can guilt the plebes into paying for shit that wont affect your bottom line, and you get to point st all the good that gets done with it.

    The one I work for pays you the same wages if you go through the program. I can get paid a full day to do charity once a year, sure, the suits write it off probably, but still.
