Unless the USA is just routinely this kind to traffickers (wouldn't be shocked) he is most certainly compromised and is a danger to any project he works with.
They don't just give back seized property without some kind of legal action on the part of the convict, and if BE is right then there was no attempt by Beau's legal team to do so. Also the club fed switch-up around the same time doesn't really make sense unless he agreed to be an informant and got some compensation for it.
