Most of the albums I listen to have good sonic and thematic cohesion and no skips. Folk, indie, dad rock, emo-alt-metal, I'll usually listen to album-wise. Sometimes I'll make playlists that are just me reordering an album or cutting some tracks.
Pop is usually for playlists, though I'll listen to new albums from artists that I like for a few days. Kpop in particular has a different typical release structure than western pop music which makes it more suited to playlists (EPs are the norm, lots of standalone singles)
