Man it strikes me that the idea that in an escalating crisis of diminishing resources and environmental collapse in late capitalism that the central conflict will be between Atheist technocrats and backwards religious zealots is the most fucking Gen X idiocy I've ever seen.

Its like someone who checked out of even their surface level political engagement in the Bush era. It's so "DAE Evangelicals dumb LOL". There's not even any kind of interesting adaptations to the monolithic faith we're presented nor the base/superstructural elements that undergird faith in class society generally.
