City Slickers. It truly was a product of its time, and by that, a :grillman: impregnating a 20 year old in a one-night-stand behind his wife's back is portrayed as a bad thing because the wife got upset about it. Oh, it doesn't end there, far from it, but that alone has sort of memory-holed it as far as I can tell.

Revenge of the Nerds had

as a plot point, a joke, and a heroic triumph of a protagonist character.

PCU is an astonishingly dated movie but at the same time is almost perfectly a prophetic example of :reddit-logo: style enlightened centrism and predates South Park for expressing the idea of "caring about things is stupid, do weed lol." It also has straw feminists and straw vegans to dunk on, and of fucking course the cryptofascists on campus are presented as only as bad as those loony leftists.

Don't know about movies but I can't imagine Game of Thrones holding up very well in the future, I never watched that trash, it is probably one of the things I hate the most right alongside Disney and modern Trek. and I only think of it as the time when they thought incest, boobs and making everything dark and gritty was a good thing and the fucking idiots all clapped.

I hope people in the future will realize how much damage that piece of trash caused, it literally influenced everything and made it all worse.

I remember when GoT was still relatively new and all the hype about it chanted that it "wasn't sunshine and rainbows" and how "mature" it was and how it wasn't "cookie cutter."

Grimdark murderfucking was already a thing in "prestige TV" and all GoT did was expand and prolong the fad.
