I can't remember the country or find the thread now. I remember that the US and that country have some agreement, so it's easier for Americans to immigrate to. The Netherlands maybe? Could use some of you gumshoes to help me find the thread.

    honestly seems pretty good compared to something like the Portuguese golden visa where the minimum investment is $300,000

      As far as I know you can get permanent residence in Spain if you have a monthly income of $2,000, also there are a lot of Latin American countries or Asian countries where that number is more like $1,000. Lots of retired folks make moves to these countries where a social security or pension check goes farther than in US.

        For Spain's retirement visa, the one you're mentioning (Non-Lucrative Visa), the income can't come from employment. It has to be passive income.

          Ah that’s good to know. I looked into itbecause I’ve got a permanent disability check which could qualify me for a lot of these types of programs that various countries have.

            Not sure if you've looked into this but a lot of countries require you to declare any disabilities or illnesses you might have and will deny you on that basis.

            Turns out anti-discrimination isn't a thing for visas.
