The practical implications of the results are that men and women process threatening messages differently, therefore behavioral change messages should be carefully targeted to each gender. Explicitly, threatening messages may be effective on women, but may have the reverse effect on men with strong favorable attitudes towards the target behavior.

    Soulless shit lol

the way to discourage men from piracy is to imply that piracy is somehow a sign of effeminacy, this will work on at least 90% of men

"Hi, I'm Ben Shapiro, and I'd like to talk to you about Piracy. But first, a five minute interlude where I play on a pan-flute and mention that I was a classically trained musician."

"Listen to Ben, kids. uncontrollable weeping. He's making a lot of really good logical points here. hiccup The mother god of the internet is seeking to consume the father sphere of private property through a transformation of beings. I can't express to you enough, gasp-cry, enough how this is torturing the Ur-Soul of the Cosmos. Piracy depletes your masculine energy!"

"Thanks JBP! Now lets break it down in an entertaining rap musical number. Tom! Drop that beat!"

i mean, when the streaming service i overpay for started adding so many ads into their ad-free service such that they had to start interrupting my programming choices multiple times to put more ads and some of these ads were anti-piracy ads, it reminded me that i know how to pirate shit and i need to get back into it. especially since an increasing portion of the media they offer is dog wank, while they keeping upping the subscription price points...

like, i know we all know what the structural forces are that enshittify these platforms, pushing value-to-client down while pushing up rents amid widespread wage suppression and layoffs. but you really don't have to be a political nerd leftist dork to see how the streamers are trying to recreate the steaming shitpile that were the hated cash cow cable companies and their horrible packages... only this time, these greedy streamers don't even own the transmission infrastructure. and while there was an impressive run by them in actually generating some content, a lot of it has fucked the dog and they are pivoting hard to position themselves as a middle man & intellectual property broker/distributor.

it's a complete joke. they are in a much more materially vulnerable position than the cable companies.

also, to digress, has anyone noticed that the ads on some of the streamers are for like the most bottom of the barrel snake oil hokum and scam shit? online gambling platforms, hotel lobby scent diffusers, magic supplements, crypto exchanges, and microtransaction games that pay you to play [they don't]? the ones on Peacock are somehow less legit than the ad reads from CT five years ago.

In my experience, women don't pirate as much as men, but they don't exactly look away when a pirated show ends up on the screen.
