“I believe in his heart, his highest priority is the security of Israel,” said Mr. Schumer, the highest-ranking Jewish elected official in the United States. “However, I also believe Prime Minister Netanyahu has lost his way by allowing his political survival to take precedence over the best interests of Israel.”

Mr. Schumer added: “He has been too willing to tolerate the civilian toll in Gaza, which is pushing support for Israel worldwide to historic lows. Israel cannot survive if it becomes a pariah.”

the problem of death toll is, of course, PR

But he was unsparing in his criticism of Mr. Netanyahu, calling the prime minister one of the top obstacles to achieving peace in the Middle East, along with Hamas, “radical right-wing Israelis” and Mahmoud Abbas, the president of the Palestinian Authority, who he also said should be replaced.

“The Netanyahu coalition no longer fits the needs of Israel after Oct. 7,” Mr. Schumer said, referring to the day of the Hamas terrorist attack on Israel. “The world has changed — radically — since then, and the Israeli people are being stifled right now by a governing vision that is stuck in the past.”

Mr. Schumer said the only solution to the decades-old conflict was a two-state solution: “a demilitarized Palestinian state living side by side with Israel in equal measures of peace, security, prosperity and dignity.”

Cool, so is he gonna refuse to let Israeli aid packages come to the floor as long as Netanyahu is power? Put forth bills to sanction them until he’s out of office? No? Then fuck off Chuck.

    a two-state solution

Oh, that fucking old chestnut now? Israel is in the midst of an ethnic cleansing and a genocide. Jewish Israelis would like to exterminate every Palestinian - including the ones who are Israeli citizens living inside Israel proper.

No. They’re not calling for a two state solution. They’re calling for a one state solution, despite the name.

“a demilitarized Palestinian state living side by side with Israel in equal measures of peace, security, prosperity and dignity.”

This is not a state. This is a defenseless piece of land that will be exterminated.

America only looks back at its extermination and confinement of indigenous peoples with feigned regret now that they pose no threat and have been dominated.

Schumer is doing the same thing, for Israel. Only after Israel has exterminated the Palestinians, would any critique be allowed.

The US is only concerned with Israel not so thoroughly frothing at the mouth as they TikTok their genocide that they fuck up the plan for massive ethnic cleansing via displacement.

In one of Biden's actually cogent moments in that recent CNN interview he pretty plainy laid out the plan, before realising he probably shouldn't have and pivoting away. He said (slight paraphrasing) that 'Israel is not doing any favours for Isreal right now' and that 'we need to focus on the difficult task of what comes after Gaza. We are already working with friendly Arab leaders in Egypt and Jordan ... to build a new stable region'.

In other words, the US is fully behind Israel ethnically cleansing the entirity of Gaza (and likely the West Bank) via forced relocation, as refugees to Arab puppet states, and preparing the diplomatic work (bribes and threats) to get others to accept radically expanded Israeli borders beyond even Gaza.
