Right? Those rioters at the capital had their sworn enemies within spitting distance and they didn't do anything except get some of their own killed. They rummaged through some offices, moved around a podium. No one lit a fire or made coherent demands. Did any of them even find any juicy state secrets? Secret rooms in the congressional offices or something? And they did all that fuss to...somehow reverse the events of the election, which didn't happen anyway.

They could have occupied the capital building and forced the cops or national guard to tear gas the house chamber. They could have actually halted the wheels of federal government if they wished, or forced the state to shoot them all. They could have taken a shit in the senate candy desk. Absolutely poor show all around and the only meaningful thing to happen was it was pretty funny. The funniest part for me was when it was happening, all my chud coworkers were in favor of it, then I reminded them they were entirely against the 2020 riots, and also entirely against the 2016 demonstrations against Trump, because their claim was "republicans don't riot." All they could say was "Well that was different." lmao ok

No I mean seriously the big takeaway from these hearings so far is that the Republicans could have 100% stolen the election if like a mike pence staffer had agreed to accept a bullshit list of electors or w/e and mike pence had played ball

I'm not kidding, this literally came down to people consciously choosing not to muddy electoral college waters and the ceremonial official in charge of certification saying No. There's all kinds of bullshit in between but after this trial run the Republicans from top to bottom know which positions to target and who to purge

if they had been like 10% more organized they could've killed a buuunch of people and that would've been way more interesting.
