I only use Twitter when linked there by this site, it’s really helpful when people use Nitter links. I have uBlock Origin on my computer but I don’t think that’ll help on my iOS Safari web app

Get the plugin called Privacy Redirect. It redirects all Twitter links to nitter instances by default so you never have to get this screen.

The solution here is to throw out your iPhone, get a shitty Android with CalyxOS on it, and change your hostfile to block twitter.com natively. Communism is when no iphone, after all.

spending weeks each year maintaining your phone to avoid annoying twitter pop ups does not seem remotely worth it

(signed, a Tired devops engineer who just had several dozen five-year-old "we can self host that no problem!" apps dropped in her lap)

Nitter URLs are twitter URL compatible; just replace the domain part. On Firefox, there's an extension that automatically redirects.

Fuck every app that does this, fuck Reddit especially since they started goin all "oh sorry this subreddit has unreviewed content" fuck you just let me browse. It's SO ANNOYING that I can't just change the link to old.reddit.com anymore, I have to open a new fucking browser and change the link there or else chrome goes "waahhhh wahhhhh html security problem is unsafe!!" and loads the fucking new reddit if I tell it to proceed anyway

Is that if you replace the whole string before ".reddit.com"? If so, maybe try just replacing the "www" and keep the "https://" if it's just looking for the https

Firefox and Safari don't do this to me.

I’ve had accounts before but I always delete them because I just get in dumb arguments with strangers and it’s bad for my mental health. But I want to be able to scroll through the bad takes and not interact

I sometimes have to resist the urge to argue with people, but the comments are usually giant shit storms that I'm glad I don't interact with.

I think Twitter does that to everybody to force them to sign up using their phone number
