    I wonder what happens in a society when trust in institutions reaches historic lows and said institutions enact wildly unpopular laws amidst massive inequality and financial uncertainty. If only there were some examples somewhere in human history from which we could draw parallels. Ah well.

          To be fair, the definition of the word was never changed. Recessions were always determined by a bunch of clerics from like Harvard and Chicago econ departments. The system is dumb as hell, but as with everything else the Biden admin literally did not do anything.

        Literally every revolution that's happened in the history of humanity. The current conditions in the US are most similar to the fall of Rome and the French revolution.
