like it's a little embarrassing to be called out or corrected in person, but you can say whatever you want on the internet and no one's going to remember you're the one who doesn't know the difference between Uyghurs and Uruguayans, or how you spouted off some dumbass take without reading the article/knowing the context. and if you're somewhat famous your followers will just make excuses or ignore it. people don't get that it's ok to just not say anything sometimes
