I think the best approach towards Vaush is simply to acknowledge what he is. A liberal.
The reason all his logic is convoluted is because he is trying to parade himself as a "true leftist" in order to rally newer potential leftists away from becoming informed leftists. All of his goals center around upholding liberalism. He takes liberal ideas and tries to paint and present them with a leftist tint so they seem cool and edgy. He often basically heralds a neo-liberal idea and just says "this is actual based leftism."
