Scrolling through Facebook, a friend I know with a prestigious job at an INGO just unironically posted a "news story" from a DC think tank about how Russian forces are planning on stealing Ukrainian children to demoralize Ukrainian forces. The think tank is funded by defense contractors and you can read on the goddamn Wikipedia page that they advocate for increased military presence in foreign conflicts. How do you post anything like that and get to remain a serious person?

He posted later about being mad about not getting away with an illegal, but commonly done thing where you say that you'll give priority to tenants to take over your lease if they agree to buy your furniture. The new tenant backed out of the agreement after promising that they would buy his stuff (which is what I'll do if I ever change apartments - fuck renters who try to fuck over other renters) so now he's not happy so I can content myself with that.
