Lasik for me was not at all cosmetic, it was life changing and incredible. Not having to deal with glasses and contacts is such a blessing. Years on I take it for granted but the freedom of being able to SEE when I wake up without fumbling for glasses or putting in contacts is incredible... Glasses break, or they get dirty, if you lose them you're fucked. Contacts are expensive and you have to touch your eyeball every day to take them in or out, they can come out in various circumstances and if you fall asleep wearing them it can cause issues.

A one time, very simple surgery completely changed my life. I also have dry eyes, according to the doctors whenever I do a check up (last time was years ago), but it doesn't actually cause me any discomfort or pain so 🤷‍♂️
